Belforte is a true port-style wine made from Petite Syrah grapes grown in Napa Valley. The name Belforte loosely translates to "beautiful fortified wine". During the fermentation process, the wine was fortified with exceptional high proof brandy to halt fermentation and give this flavorful wine a high degree of natural sweetness. The wine was aged in 12 oak barrels for 22 months.
The 2009 Belforte is the perfect wine to enjoy at the end of a meal or when celebrating an evening.
Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
It all began in our Leonardini Vineyard in March 2012 when Mother Nature provided perfect spring weather for bud break and early grape development. This cabernet comes from our most prized vineyards and is the owner's namesake. Out of the 12 acres planted, winemaker Dean Sylvester hand selected the fruit from seven vineyard rows. Loaded with bright, ripe fruit and intensity in depth, enjoy now or allow to cellar till 2030.
93+ Points - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
"Medium to deep garnet in color with a hint of purple, the 2015 Millennium MM Vineyard delivers intense scents of baked black cherries, mulberries, red currant jelly and black currants with wafts of fried herbs, wood smoke, tar, tilled earth and lavendar. The full-bodied palate fills the mouth with herb-laced fruits, framed by firm, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and mineral laced."
Winemaker: Jason Moulton
Blend: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot
This 2016 Leonardini Estate wine is a quintessential Cabernet Sauvignon. It begins on the nose with rich, dark black fruits, blueberries, blackberry bon bons, cassis, fragrant violets, tobacco leaf, and baking spices. Its balance and mid-palate are most notable, providing long, plush tannins alongside its dense fruit character. On the palate, it delivers baked berry crisp, black and red fruits, toasted walnuts, brioche, pencil shavings, and cedar on the finish. The beautiful underlying tannin structure, complexity, and ample fruit will evolve over time and age gracefully for 15-20 years.
The 2018 Las Brisas Vineyard Pinot Noir has aromatic layers of red raspberries, berry compote, wild strawberries, pencil shavings, forrest floor, and a hint cherry lollipop. On the palate, strawberry jam intermingles with baked red plums, red raspberry pie, game meat, and a touch of vanilla toast. All of these elements burst from this wine with a textured, round mouthfeel and long-structured finish.
